Clinchin' Reviews
Luis Gutierrez of One Dragon Martial Arts wrote this in response to someone asking about the seminar on the MMA.tv's JKD Q&A forum:
Kalijkd,
This may be a bias view since I have known both the Singers since their
days in PFS and coach alongside them for the SBG but
Adam and Rory are two of the very few coaches / instructors in the martial
arts and combative sports that I have ever met who can both perform and
instruct with equally great results. They can quickly get to the point
of what needs to be worked on and then do so in any of a myriad of ways
depending on what the athlete or student requires. I have seen them work
with complete beginners and experienced athletes alike and they are always
as effective as they are genuine.
Training with these two is always fun and the many things you walk away
with will most definitely enhance your performance and development for
some time.
And
For those of you still wondering and debating the reality of sport vs.
street training methods and concepts, attend the Centerline Gym seminar
and I promise that after much sweat and laughter that aching paradox will
ail you no more. Advil and ice, by the way will ease the rest.
The seminar is sure to be a blast!

It is an outstanding training reference for clinch. You really ought
to get a copy while it is available.
It is the most under priced video on the market in my opinion. I don't
know why it is so inexpensive. Maybe they just felt compelled to share?
Anyway, the content is world class. There is enough material on there
to keep you busy for years. Well, it will keep me busy for years anyway.
They put the strikes, head butts, knees, and elbows, into the mix with
an emphasis on athleticism, position and strategy. One of the great caveats
of bjj, that everyone has grown to understand, is position first. The
Singer tape makes it crystal
If they are still selling the tape, I would highly recommend that you
try to get one. As a bonus you get to see the larger brother, Adam I think,
in a wet t-shirt, which is nice.

I obviously read a lot of threads here (on the Underground Forum),and
noticed a positive review for a seminar tape on Clinching. As this is
a crucial aspect MMA, I read the post with interest.
Over the next few weeks, I came across a number of other uniformly enthusiastic
reviews. I learned some more details. The seminar was given by Adam and
Rory Singer, Adam and Rory run Athens, Georgia's The HardCore Gym, a Straight
Blast Gym affiliate that is rightfully coming into it's own prominence.
After weeks of over and again going "Oh that looks interesting"
and then getting swamped with other stuff, I finally emailed
info@thehardcoregym.net for more info. I have been to a bunch of seminars
over the years, and $30 bucks is very reasonable for repeated access to
a great seminar, plus USPS Priority Shipping was only three bucks. So,
with no hesitation, I sent a check off to:
The HardCore Gym

Athens, GA 30601
The tape was excellent, video was clear, audio was good, and the content
was outstanding. Drawing on Greco Roman wrestling, BJJ, Muay Thai and
JKD, the teachers demonstrate a remarkable command of Clinching in a fight.
From safely getting the clinch, to countering it, to variations of it,
to takedowns, and even striking, a huge amount of valuable information
was clearly and logically detailed.
I watched the tape through half a dozen times in my VCR and hope it gets
in your VCR too, and soon!
